Visceral Games is now handling the next crazy "action blockbuster" outing for the mercenary duo in Army of Two, with the studio acknowledging its charm is a "guilty pleasure" you enjoy on the couch.

This sequel is powered by DICE's Frostbite 2 engine, which means it "just looks good," freeing up the team to experiment and "making a recipe that's unique" from others. Drug wars "are not fun."

Publisher EA has issued a statement confirming that job losses will be taking place, in a "very small number", at their EA Montreal outfit. They're casualties of "reorganising some teams".

However "many will be assigned" to other projects, they said, with the remaining set to "leave the company." Despite this loss of staff EA expect headcount overall "will be up" by 2012's end.

You might remember EA's Army of Two franchise where two players can assume the roles of two mercenaries taking on the bad buys in third-person. Well, how about four players?

Rumour has it that EA is busy developing a sequel with four player co-op, and it's being powered by DICE's Frostbite 2 engine, meaning destructibility will be a major highlight.

Army of Two's antics aren't done with yet as Visceral Games Montreal wants a Senior Producer and a Lead Environmental Artist for the action property.

The sequel The 40th Day came out back in January 2010 and sold over 1 million copies by May. Given who they're hiring it's unlikely E3 2011 will host its debut.
