Masahiro Taguchi, the games technical director, has blogged that players waiting for Team Battles to be setup can duke it out arcade style.

It's to do with the Fight Request system, and when everything is set and the real fights begin only two players can mess one another up.

EA announces new DLC Pack for Fight Night Round 4

Electronic Arts announced today that it will be releasing new Downloadable Content for Fight Night Round 4 in early December for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The DLC pack will cost 800 MS Points and £9.99 on the PlayStation Network.

The DLC will add Bernard Hopkins, Sonny Liston and Evander Holyfield as playable boxers, while including two new game modes. The first, Old School Rules brings a new take to the traditional boxing experience, while the second, Ring Rivalries, allows you to re-create some of the greatest match ups in boxing history.

Namco detail Tekken 6 online features, upload "ghost characters"

Just because you're not online doesn't mean others can challenge you, say Namco. Tekken 6 allows any player to "download your ghost" and square off against your fight style.

A title update will add online scenario co-op after launch, pitting players against the AI. Full ranked matches and leaderboards are a given. You can "upload replays of killer matches".

It has been officially announced that Capcom will be releasing 'Super Street Fighter IV' in spring of 2010, and with it comes eight new characters and gameplay improvements.

This new release will be a standalone disc, not DLC, and won't be slapped with a full retail price. It's being released on Xbox 360 and PS3 with a slew of fan suggested tweaks.

Street Fighter sequel announcement tomorrow, goes live 17:00 JST

Capcom have published a teaser site for their upcoming sequel announcement for Street Fighter, and it's marked September 29th with a time stamp of 17:00 JST.

The teaser right now is just a short flash movie showing some black and white swirls with two fighters, similar to the style of IV's cinematics. The address of the site has 'newwarrior' in it.

Tomorrow on XBLA: Warriors, Ion Assault and Zombie Apocalypse

Major Nelson has confirmed that hitting Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow will be The Warriors: Street Brawl from developer CTXM and shooter Ion Assault from team Coreplay.

The third arrival tomorrow will be Konami's Zombie Apocalypse, featuring a "small band of heavily equipped" survivalists. Each of the XBLA titles will be 800 MSP, and all have co-op.

Capcom have pulled the most currently cruel PR stunt there is, they hinted of an upcoming announcement only to have said announcement be of an announcement. Not cool.

However, hurt feelings aside, this eventual news is believed to be of the next instalment in the franchise. While maybe not Street Fighter V, it's likely a turbo or something.

King of Fighters XII set for 25th September

Ignition Entertainment confirmed today that a new release date for King of Fighters XII has been decided for UK, Europe and Australasia. This new date has the game released for 25th September, 2009.

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the franchise, KOF XII features 22 characters each with their own moves and styles in 2D with 100% hand-drawn backgrounds.

Worms 2: Armageddon and The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match will be available to download from the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday for 800 points each.

THQ announced today that the WWE Legends of WrestleMania demo is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. The playable demo will allow players to participate in an exhibition match with Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Bobby “the Brain” Heenan using the WrestleMania III arena.

Other demo's to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace today were Wheelman and Wanted.
