Gearbox's Pitchford "astonished" Borderlands has no competition
Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford states that he is "astonished" that Borderlands hasn't spawned any imitators, and that Borderlands 2 virtually has no competition.

Gearbox has revealed that gamers who own the original Borderlands will get bonus customization elements for Borderlands 2, including new character heads and skins. This was revealed in a special poster shown off by the developer.

Art director Jeramy Cooke of Borderlands 2 at Gearbox Software wants the sequel to be "a richer, larger world." He personally felt the original was too sandy.
