Darksiders II led software sales in the UK for August 2012, with NCAA Football 13, the collegiate American football EA Sports title, making a surprising #4 appearance. Sleeping Dogs, which topped the weekly charts for two straight weeks, debuted at #6.

Major Nelson has revealed the content that will be hitting Xbox Live Marketplace for the next two weeks from the 26th June to the 9th July. The most noteworthy content hitting Marketplace is the highly anticipated Dawnguard expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which will run gamers a whole 1600 MSP ($19.99 USD), as well as the free Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut and the Close Quarters expansion for Battlefield 3 for 1200 MSP ($14.99 USD).

Officially May 1st is the day for an announcement from Activision about a new Call of Duty, which is largely believed to be Black Ops 2. It seems it'll be set in the near future?

A fake episode of FPS Russia features a "prototype quadrotor with machine gun!" It's an attack drone with a 100-round gun attached, controllable via a tablet to oversee the battlefield.

Vicarious Visions, a subsidiary of Activision, was for a time working on a tactics-based Call of Duty instalment. This spin-off was discovered via a studio animator's online work portfolio.

A brief clip showed a WW2-set prototype that was in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It took place in 2009 but it's unclear how long it went on for. Vicarious turned to Spyro.

Major Nelson has released a list of content for the upcoming week of Xbox Live Arcade, including four Xbox Live Arcade titles, one of which is the long awaited platformer Fez. The major Games on Demand being offered include EA Sports' hot FIFA 12.

The hot deals for the week include SNK's King of Fighters and Metal Slug games, while the following week's discounts focus on Call of Duty: World at War and some Modern Warfare items.
