Activision has announced the official special editions of their upcoming blockbuster shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. They will include the $179.99 USD Care Package, the $79.99 USD Hardened Edition, and the $79.99 USD Digital Deluxe Edition.

After impressively demoing an iPad live-stream of Black Ops II last week, game design director David Vonderhaar has confirmed the feature also works on consoles.

Activision "certainly don't think the growth is over" for Call of Duty

European VP Michael Sportouch of Activision has said there's no trouble with continued growth for Call of Duty, especially as they look to take on the Chinese market with a free-to-play project.

Growth continues in "mature, established" Europe too, said Sportouch. Black Ops II could spur even more to join the Call of Duty banner. The "extended console cycle" has boosted multiplayer.

Activision announces that fans attending Gamescom 2012 in Cologne, Germany next week will be "among the first to play" Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on Xbox 360. It's available day one, August 15th.

The demos will be held at booths A21/B30- A31/B30 in Hall 6, which hosts the "massive Call of Duty Multiplayer arena". They also tease of the "exclusive reveal" due the same day, streaming live.
