A 21st century Cold War awaits Call of Duty fans in the freshly announced Black Ops 2 from developer Treyarch. It's set during a time when tech and weapons have "converged".

This 'convergence' has sparked a "new generation of warfare" keeping that Cold War particularly brisk. A worldwide reveal trailer has been aired by Activision. It's out this mid-November.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is reportedly going to be formally announced on the 1st May during the NBA playoffs, but some gamers have reported that Target has started issuing pre-orders for the shooter prematurely, and the dare listed on the card lists the date 13th November 2012.

Officially May 1st is the day for an announcement from Activision about a new Call of Duty, which is largely believed to be Black Ops 2. It seems it'll be set in the near future?

A fake episode of FPS Russia features a "prototype quadrotor with machine gun!" It's an attack drone with a 100-round gun attached, controllable via a tablet to oversee the battlefield.

An unnamed retailer source sent Kotaku an image of a new poster that has been sent out to stores from Activision that reads "05 * 02 * 12 Return for Debriefing" in the familiar Call of Duty font, with logos for both Treyarch and Activision.

Threads appearing on the official Activision forum for Call of Duty have been claiming to leak information about Treyarch's assumed Black Ops 2 title in the works; no official word yet.

Someone has salvaged the cache of what was posted on the forum, and Activision's fervour for hunting these posts down has given them credence among Call of Duty fans.
