This year's Summer of Arcade for 2012 was the worst-selling promotion in its history, dating to 2009; 2008 was the first Summer of Arcade, but sales figures weren't released at the time.

Valve has announced that the an exclusive 60 minute timed demo for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be available next week for PlayStation Network Plus members. The game will be released via auto-download on the 20th August and will not be available directly from the PlayStation Store.

Valve Software revealed at E3 2012 that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be hitting Steam, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network on the 21st August of this year. The game will be priced at 1200 Microsoft Points ($14.99 USD).

According to Valve, the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive software development kit is being developed by Mike Durand, and will be dropping three months after the game is released. The SDK, of course, will allow players to mod the game as well as create new maps.

Valve has announced that the next-generation of the mega-popular multiplayer team shooter, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, will be coming out this Summer for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The publisher also released some screenshots showing off the new engine, in one level that apparently takes place in a suburban setting.
