Crytek "were surprised" no one bid for Vigil, Darksiders 3 'not a strategical fit'

Darksiders developer Vigil Games has become Crytek USA, but Crytek boss Cevat Yerli was as equally shocked as the rest of us that no one actually put forward a bid during the THQ auction.

Crytek didn't bid at the time because of "too many unknowns," and that their current projects "weren't strategically fit" for the German studio. A single meeting led to Crytek USA being formed.

Farrell "heartened" majority of THQ studios and IPs "continue under new ownership"

Brian Farrell and Jason Rubin have discussed a little about the closing moments of publisher THQ, of which both were leading executives. Farrell does "sincerely regret this outcome" for those out of work.

Rubin adds that he was brought in to "help turn this ship around," and while disappointed never everyone was saved, he echoes Farrell in being grateful for those that were snapped up.

The final stages of THQ's bankruptcy seems to be coming on the 22nd January, when Clearlake Capital will be auctioning off the publisher's assets one by one.

Demon Lord Belial DLC landing today for Darksiders II

The third downloadable content pack for Darksiders II, Demon Lord Belial, will be released later today on Xbox Live Marketplace and PC, while the PlayStation 3 version will be released tomorrow, the 5th December. The DLC will run 800 Microsoft Points ($10 USD).

THQ talking with "financial sponsor" over troubles, "no assurance" of deal

THQ is once more in financial straits but there have been positive events recently as they've managed to secure a forbearance agreement with Wells Fargo Capital Finance until January 15th, 2013.

That means the $50 million on credit won't be exercised against THQ, and additional loans will be made. Also the publisher is in talks with a potential "financial sponsor", but nothing is certain.
