Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut on PC October 31st

Having graduated Steam's Greenlight, Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut was given the all clear to land on PC. Now the guilty pleasure of this surprising cult hit has been dated - it's out October 31st.

The Director's Cut includes HD textures, reworked controls, a new scenario and expanded content. There are also Steam achievements and trading cards because... just because.

The Director's Cut edition for Deadly Premonition is no longer a PlayStation 3 exclusive as publisher Rising Star Games has announced they are bringing it to PC, and have released an announcement trailer.

There's no date attached yet other than the words 'near future'. The cult hit has also scared its way onto Steam Greenlight for peer approval. There's "additional content" for the PC version.

Rising Star Games has announced that UK gamers can enjoy the horror action of Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut in late April exclusively on PlayStation 3. There are pre-order incentives all lined up.

A 30-day trial to PlayStation Plus is available in boxed copies, as Rising Star and Sony are cooking up some digital pre-order goodies for PSN. HD textures, DLC and new content features.

Game designer Hidetaka 'SWERY' Suehiro has let a few details about his plans for Deadly Premonition 2 to slip into the public domain. He intended a sequel where the first "had never existed."

He wanted to do "everything from scratch" but the producer "said I couldn't do that." Suehiro-san wanted the "same series but a different world" but was told no because fans love protagonist York.

Hidetaka Suehiro, aka SWERY65, of Access Games says he'll "work until it kills him" to create something "really good" but he needs a publisher first.

He says it's "high time" the Deadly Premonition studio worked on something new. The developer "have to team up" with a publisher to begin though.
