Disney Infinity delayed until August, hopes kids take toys into school to trade
Disney Corp has decided to push back the release of Disney Infinity from June until mid-August to encourage retailers to give more shelf space for its line of toys, which Disney hopes will flood playgrounds.
August is generally quiet for video game releases and so Disney want to capitalise on that as kids are back in school September, hopefully trading their Disney Infinity wares for free marketing.

Disney is on the march and they want to muscle in on Activision's gamble with what they call the "toys to life category" of video games and merchandising. Disney wants their own Skylanders success story.
To that end they've come up with Disney Infinity, and so Activision is worried - right? Wrong. The publishing giant is "thrilled by the incredible success" of Skylanders, and "flattered" by copy cats.
