Capcom hinted around five weeks ago that it was considering a Dragon's Dogma sequel despite disappointing sales. The publisher's investor call yesterday regarding the first quarter 2012 financial period seems to indicate that a sequel is indeed in the works.

Japanese publisher Capcom is chuffed to bits as their Q1 earning show a dramatic 300% in profits as they pull in ¥1.3bn, which is around £11m. Dragon's Dogma flexed its might for them.
The new RPG IP has also surpassed a million unit sales, cementing it as a hit. Digital sales also rose as they posted ¥13.7bn (£111m). Capcom have noted a "recovery trend" for games.

Game director Hideaki Itsuno has said his team are "continuing to prepare new play elements" for Dragon's Dogma, and so fans who've cleared the game shouldn't ditch it just yet.
The domestic reaction to Dragon's Dogma in Japan was better than they thought it would be, revealed Itsuno-san. The director would like to work the next title in the fledgling series.
