Codemasters announce GRID 2: Mono Edition for £125,000

Got half way to a quarter of a million? Codemasters has prepared a very special bundle for GRID 2 in the form of the Mono Edition, of which there exists only one. They'd like £125,000 for the pleasure of owning it.

What does it include? A copy of GRID 2 for PS3 with unique artwork. A branded Bell racing helmet, a PS3, a racing suit with boots and gloves... oh and a customised BAC Mono racing car.

It's official as EA now confirms the existence of Need for Speed: Rivals after a Frostbite developer tweeted about it a little earlier. The next instalment is being handled by Ghost Games. It's focusing on cops and racers.

We can choose to play as either with challenges and collectibles strewn through the world. In Rivals we rise in the ranks using all our pursuit and evade tricks. AllDrive has friends drop-in and out.

One of EA's staff on the Frostbite engine team has revealed a little early the existence of Need for Speed: Rivals, which is said to be in the works for current and next-gen consoles over at Ghost Games.

More details on Rivals are expected to spill out soon, with it possibly being a kind of sequel to PSP's Need for Speed: Underground Rivals. Number plates suggest it's out November.

Forza Motorsport 5 confirmed as Xbox One launch title

Microsoft has confirmed that Forza Motorsport 5 will be a launch title for the Xbox One. No other information, save a gameplay trailer, is known, but it's assumed the game will include many of the new consoles features such as cloud saves.

Dun-dun-duuuun. Car manufacturer McLaren seems to have something to do with the likes of Microsoft's Next Xbox event later today - so it could be Forza Motorsport or Project Gotham related right?

Well, Need for Speed's Facebook also posted a picture of a McLaren to "brighten up" our day, and given that EA and Microsoft are said to be very cosy over the next Xbox for exclusives...

Codemasters confirm GRID 2's track list totalling 82, most in "day & night"

Due at the end of this month is Codemasters' GRID 2 and so now would be a great time to let fans know what tracks they'll be barrelling down. In a rather lengthy post they reveal there are 82 race tracks.

Most are available with day & night cycles, but some are limited to just sunset, or are tied to pre-orders. GRID 2 will be releasing on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC May 28th in the US, 31st in EU.

Need for Speed starring Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul begins filming in Georgia

The film adaptation of Need for Speed has started production in the town of Macon, Georgia. It stars former Batman actor Michael Keaton and Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul who plays Jesse in the hit TV show.

A local news network reported on the filming letting residents know Hollywood-types were invading the town and shutting down roads. No traffic in the way? Doesn't sound like Need for Speed.

DarkSeas Games' love letter to Road Rash has been approved by over 3,700 wallets as it surpasses their goal of $160k. The Kickstarter campaign for Road Redemption is officially successful, with about 48 hours left.

The motorcycle combat-racing gameplay is directly influenced by Road Rash, adding in "insane crashes," destructible track environments, ragdoll physics and online multiplayer.

Owners of Forza Horizon will be getting some free downloadable content on the 16th April in the form of the 1,000 Club Expansion Pack. The DLC features more than 1,000 new challenges, ten Xbox Live achievements worth 250 Gamescore, and two new cars.

Another subtitled adventure within the Need for Speed series is getting the Criterion reboot treatment, according to rumour, and this time it'll be Underground. It will apparently be set in a new Bayview City.

An anonymous party sent in a proposed logo for this reboot, saying it was in development for Xbox 360. Oddly the logo includes landmarks like Big Ben and the Coliseum. Something's not right.

Activision has announced that the first round of downloadable content for NASCAR The Game: Inside Line is now available. The DLC includes challenges from this year’s real-life NASCAR races, as well as a new set of Gen 6 paint schemes for all 43 drivers in the game.

Three DLC packs are en route to Need for Speed: Most Wanted - the leaked PS3 trophies list told us that - but now EA has confirmed their existence, and all three packs are available to download.

Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers can enjoy the Terminal Velocity, Movie Legends and Heroes packs of new races and vehicles right now, but PC Need for Speed junkies must wait until March 13th.

EA is releasing three DLC packs containing new races and vehicles for Criterion's Need for Speed: Most Wanted. These new content packs were outed by leaked PlayStation 3 trophies.

They're named as the Terminal Velocity Pack, the Movie Legends Pack and the NFS Heroes Pack. Each provides new single player and multiplayer goodies tied to trophies/achievements.

In a new agreement Codemasters will be relinquishing self-publishing as Namco Bandai expands to include the studio's portfolio amongst its label in Europe and Australasia, which includes GRiD 2.

This also covers every forthcoming major release, as the two update their 2010 arrangement which "built a trustworthy relationship" over the years. Codemasters don't want the hassle of costs.

Turn 10 has announced the February downloadable content for Forza Horizon, called the Jalopnik pack, which will add six new cars. The DLC will cost 400 MicroSoft Points ($4.99 USD).
