Fable: The Journey about 'freedom' in design and how you play

Peter Molyneux says the first word on the wall "when we were designing this game" was 'freedom', and it's beyond not just being an 'on-rails' shooter.

It's about going and stopping "where you like" and how you get there. The main way to navigate the world is the horse, which "has feelings" too.

Peter Molyneux says that skepticism surrounding the Kinect gesture control device is normal for a new control medium, remembering how the mouse was viewed with the game feelings back during the days of the Commodore Amiga.

Epic "dying to be a part" of Kinect's future, impressed with ideas

Epic Games' Mark Rein says he's "really happy" that this second generation of Kinect games is "going strong" with people having "lots of cool and amazing ideas".

The studio is "dying to be a part" of it more. Epic can claim their Unreal Engine 3 tech was in the first ever Kinect title, as well as powering Kinect Fun Labs.

Peter Molyneux says Kinect's Fable: The Journey, which "isn't on rail", uses "huge amounts of technology" from their cancelled 'tech demo' Project Milo.

The Lionhead Studios boss also teased they've got a "super secret second project" in development alongside it. He wouldn't elaborate any details.

Lionhead Studios boss Peter Molyneux admits Kinect "has got some problems," which are mostly to do with navigating players. No thumb stick is trouble.

It can be "somewhat of a problem" ordering a player character around the game world, but it does provide a "great sense of freedom and emotion."
