The polling consumers of retailer Amazon have spoken, or rather voted. Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim managed to beat Naughty Dog's The Last of Us in a tournament for 'Generation's Greatest Game'.

Other major contenders were Grand Theft Auto IV, BioShock, Super Mario Galaxy, Portal 2, Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham City, Far Cry 3, Red Dead Redemption and more.

Pikmin 3, the most highly-anticipated Wii U game - and perhaps the only AAA Wii U exclusive game left - wasn't able to capture the top spot in the UK's weekly game sales chart, as the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft took the top spot. It did manage to outsell The Last of Us, however.

The first day of the Xbox 360 "Ultimate Game Sale" has some pretty good deals on Xbox Live Marketplace, with Assassin's Creed 3 being sold for $14.99 USD, Far Cry 3 for $19.99, Max Payne 3 for $9.99 and Borderlands 2 for only $9.99.

Ubisoft: Some franchises "cooking longer than others"

New Far Cry and Prince of Persia? What about Beyond Good & Evil? Ubisoft Europe head Alain Corre says they have the publisher's franchises "always in gestation," always "thinking about what can be done."

While they "haven't announced anything" on the Far Cry front, they're definitely keeping its future in mind. Asked about any new Prince of Persia, Corre says they've "a lot on the show floor" already.

GRID 2 holds UK chart, Remember Me debuts 3rd, Skyrim - Legendary 4th

Codemasters' virtual tyre screecher GRID 2 maintains first pole position in the UK all format chart for another week, with FIFA 13 equally holding onto 2nd. Dontnod's Remember Me enters 3rd, if memory serves.

Bethesda's Legendary bundle of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came 4th, which is most impressive for a bunch of DLCs duck tapped together. Far Cry 3 was 5th, followed by Dead Island: Riptide.
