Fruit slicing developer Halfbrick of Fruit Ninja fame was in "deep strife" as they started working on the now commercially successful indie title on XBLA.

The studio was in "big trouble" if something didn't "come through soon," but Fruit Ninja's simplicity won over the Xbox Live Arcade masses recently.

Developer Halfbrick of iOS game Fruit Ninja reveals the Kinect version, now available on XBLA, was "born within minutes" during a Microsoft meeting.

Chopping fruits as they fly down the screen is natural to Kinect. Their goal was to get Fruit Ninja as "responsive and satisfying" as possible. It's 800 MSP.

It's August and that means a fresh schedule for the Xbox Live Marketplace needs to have its beans spilled. Releasing today on XBLA is Fruit Ninja Kinect.

Driver: San Francisco launches its demo on Xbox Live as does Madden NFL 12. Toy Soldiers: Cold War releases on Xbox Live Arcade August 17th.

The Gunstringer, Twisted Pixel's outrageous Kinect title, will be hitting retail on September 13 for a budgetware price of $39.99. The game was originally targeted for Xbox Live Arcade, but Microsoft shifted it to retail a few weeks ago.
