Rumor: Grand Theft Auto V to be download only?

Research firm Newzoo is convinced that Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar's upcoming open world game, will be download only, rather than a retail game, and that "the boxed GTA V version will contain a collectible piece of merchandise and a download code. No disc."

In just under 40mins the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V will be revealed. Will it be a downloadable only title? Will it be for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC? Where will it be located? We should find out the answer to most of these questions soon.

Dan Houser of Rockstar Games says you "have to have originality" in your title, "some kind of interesting message." Rockstar want us to "really feel" a game.

They're "deliberately avoiding" the Western fascination with military-style FPS titles, and Rockstar doesn't even think of Max Payne 3 as a straight shooter.

Kotaku is reporting that a source from Rockstar Games told them that Grand Theft Auto V will be set in Los Angeles, or a facsimile of L.A., much like Grand Theft Auto IV was set in an ersatz version of New York City. The game will also allegedly have multiple protagonists.
