Bungie started a hip-cool trend when it began offering fans of Halo some serious stat-tracking numbers to crunch but now that's all come to a close for the developer - they're moving on.

You may remember that since leaving Microsoft Game Studios, Halo creator Bungie is now shacked up with publishing giant Activision on an all-new IP universe. It's going great.
Well, that's what PR shamans tell us. Bungie has a "genre-defining new IP" which will prove to be one of Activision's "key strategic growth pillars". It'll be fun too, I imagine.

343 Industries takes over the Halo franchise from Bungie on 30th March

On the 30th March, 343 Industries will be in complete control of the Halo franchise, as Bungie will be transferring all of the Halo data to the new shepherds of the mega-popular Xbox 360 franchise.

Former Microsoft Game Studios boss Ed Fries said no one anticipated how colossal Halo would become, and anyone he says otherwise "isn't telling the truth."
There was a "small set" of titles they spent TV ad money on and Halo one among them. It's "almost a curse" now as it affected Xbox and the franchise itself.
