NY Comic Con 2012: 343 Industries unsurprised over Halo 4 theft

The NYCC Halo 4 panel, which was by far the most popular one at New York Comic Con 2012, was run yesterday. 343 Industries boss Frank O'Connor was asked about the theft of Halo 4 discs and the leaking of content.

According to O'Connor, “There are people putting the whole thing on YouTube."

It seems to happen with every Halo release - leaked discs get out in the wild, and then some stores sell the game early. Halo 4 is no different, as a pic of the two discs will posted on NeoGAF.

Oscar-nominated director David Fincher has produced a Halo 4 trailer, and it will air during Jimmy Kimmel Live on the 18th October at around 12:35AM.

343 won't show Master Chief's face despite being "actually really well described"

Developer 343 Industries isn't keen on showing us what Master Chief looks like underneath that fancy Spartan helmet, although he's "really well described" in the 2001 novel Halo: The Fall of Reach.

Franchise boss Frank O'Connor says it's a "device to keep the player invested" playing as the hero, which would diminish if we 'see him'. These are "gamey elements" unique to our industry.
