Ensemble founder: having no publisher is great for game development
Former Ensemble Studios developer Tony Goodman revealed that Bungie was annoyed at his studio working on Halo Wars, the former feeling that Microsoft "whored out" the IP.

Back in 2009 Halo Wars released on Xbox 360 which took the first-person shooter series into the real-time strategy arena, and was developed by Age of Empires' Ensemble Studios.

A new report has surfaced claiming that E.T. and Indiana Jones director Steven Spielberg, along with Dreamworks, will be taking on the Halo movie adaptation.
Microsoft has always said they're very interested in Halo for cinema, but that they'd never rush into any agreement. They might even finance the film themselves.

Microsoft is stating that they are not turning Halo into a yearly franchise, afraid of diluting the IP and oversaturating the market. In an interview with IGN, Microsoft Game Studios Vice President Phil Spencer reassured gamers that even though there are two Halo games releasing in the next two years, the series won't become an annual product.

Fans of Halo Wars will have to wait longer for a sequel, as there are no plans for a new edition of the Halo-licensed real-time strategy game, despite its high sales.
