Capcom: 'Novelty wearing off' among fans for brawler HD updates

It seems Capcom are drawing a close to their run of HD updates to brawlers as sales are slowing down, reveals Capcom's SVP Christian Svensson. They won't be giving all their fighting titles a HD makeover.

Svensson outlines a lot of the hurdles they must clear in order to get "PS1, PS2 and PSP ISOs on PSN." It's not pretty. In truth they've "probably run the course of feasible titles" getting onto PSN.

Capcom beat-em-up evangelist Seth Killian promises we shouldn't have to wait a decade for Street Fighter V to punch and kick its way into our brawler hearts, unlike Street Fighter IV.

He jokes it'll "be before 2019," unless they wait until 2020 "just to screw me and make me look like an ass." Killian won't discuss ideas in case "some other game cops" them.

The Xbox Live Marketplace calendar from now until mid November has been detailed by Major Nelson. Today will release BurgerTime World Tour on Xbox Live Arcade.

Next week there's Fusion: Genesis, as well as some Dead Rising 2: Off the Record skill pack DLCs. Games on Demand adds Enslaved and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

Capcom has announced that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be getting an Ultimate Edition, which will be released this coming November for a budget price of $39.99.

Publisher Capcom's fiscal year report is out and things are great, no really they are. Sales were up 46% from the previous year, and profit leapfrogged 258%.

That means $96 million got pocketed. PSP's Monster Hunter Freedom 3 "played the lead role" for Capcom's success, shipping a mighty 4.6m copies in just Japan.
