Mass Effect 3 "From Ashes" DLC appears on Marketplace, vanishes

The Mass Effect 3 page on Xbox Live Marketplace unexpectedly listed a "From Ashes" downloadable content, which allows the player to "unearth lost secrets from the past and recruit the Prothean squad member." For those players who haven't followed the series, the Protheans are a long extinct (50,000 years, to be exact) alien race who were instrumental in helping Shepard repel the first Reaper, Sovereign.

BioWare has finally released the full "Take Back Earth" trailer for Mass Effect 3, after teasing it then showing an abbreviated version a few days later.

The trailer is particularly interesting in that it calls back the very first Mass Effect 3 trailer, featuring the sniper ensconced in the tower of Big Ben, sniping Husks.

BioWare has released the "full" "Take Back Earth" trailer for Mass Effect 3, as expected, but they also promise an even longer "Extended Cut" of the trailer tomorrow, on the 21st February.

Early copies of Mass Effect 3 launched into space

Electronic Arts is breaking its own street date on Mass Effect 3 in the strangest way: it's launching some copies into space, strapped onto weather balloons.

The bizarre promotion has balloons launched from New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris, flying high into the stratosphere. Each of the balloons are equipped with a GPS tracking device, which allows fans to follow their progress.

BioWare has posted a teaser for a new Mass Effect 3 trailer coming on the 19th February.

The teaser seems to be a reference to the famous and controversial Lyndon Johnson "Daisy" advertisement, except instead of nuclear explosions, it's a Reaper.
