Commander Shephard and the Normandy crew have a new dilemma in the run up to retake Earth as BioWare officially releases the Leviathan DLC, which is the first full single player add-on.

Until now only multiplayer content has been added with new maps and challenges. This new addition lets fans "really explore, discover and learn more" about the Mass Effect universe.

BioWare has announced on its official blog that the Leviathan downloadable content for Mass Effect 3 will be released on the 28th August on PC, Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network in North America. European PSN will have to wait an extra day, the 29th August.

As promised, Electronic Arts has officially announced the Leviathan single player DLC for Mass Effect 3. The DLC was revealed at EA's Summer Showcase event.

Developer BioWare has teased something in the way of an announcement is coming to visit fans of Mass Effect 3 "later today," and soon laughed at their "announcement of an announcement".

This news could be related to some planned DLC for Mass Effect 3, like the Leviathan add-on that game files blabbed about. It could also be Wii U port related.

Mass Effect 3 producer Mike Gamble revealed at a San Diego Comic Con has revealed that BioWare is planning on making single player downloadable content for the game, and such DLC will focus on Shepard's experience.
