Analyst: Konami to release MGS5 between April 2014 and May 2015

Japanese analyst Nomura Securities expects Konami to increase earnings by 24 percent to ¥52 billion over fiscal 2013, which begins this April and ends May next year.

The following fiscal period will see the release of Metal Gear Solid 5, assumes the firm, with operating earnings to climb 15 percent to ¥60 billion. Does Nomura have inside intel?

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning debuts atop UK chart

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is forcibly retired from the UK all format chart throne by 38 Studios' RPG contender, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The Darkness II entered 3rd.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection sneaks about 4th, and FIFA 12 came 5th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 held 7th, and SEGA's Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games rocketed up 10th.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Metal Gear Solid HD dominate UK chart

Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2 launched as the UK number one last week, following closely by Konami's Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. FIFA 12 has been knocked down 4th.

Battlefield 3 pulled a flanking manoeuvre to get 3rd, and Namco's Soul Calibur V entered 5th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 slinks down 7th, and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 8th.

What pats on our virtual backs are in store with Kojima Productions' Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for Xbox 360 and PS3? Now you can know if you're the nosy and impatient sort.

The biggest 'payout' among the Xbox 360 Achievements is for collecting all those pesky dog tags, for completing every VR and Alternative missions, and finding all Kerotans (frogs).

When can we expect our bundle of HD Metal Gear Solids from Konami? No they won't be in your Christmas stocking I'm afraid, but aren't too far away.

Konami has announced that the HD remakes are coming February 3rd to Xbox 360 and PS3, with the latter sporting Konami's 'Transfarring' save game system.
