Minecraft continues to dominate PC and XBLA

Mojang's addictive software toy Minecraft continues to dominate both Xbox Live Arcade and PC platforms, as the game has passed the 4M sales mark on XBLA, while the PC version can now be purchased in retail via game cards.

4J Studios acknowledge that the Xbox 360 Minecraft community will never get to enjoy the breadth of 3rd party creativity that their PC counterpart does, but they can do something in the middle.

The dev team are "looking at the elements" of the most popular mods for Minecraft, and discussing if and how these community created features could integrate.

Summer of Arcade this year put up poor sales

This year's Summer of Arcade for 2012 was the worst-selling promotion in its history, dating to 2009; 2008 was the first Summer of Arcade, but sales figures weren't released at the time.

The Minecraft continues to be as much of, if not more, of a phenomenon on Xbox Live Arcade as it has been for PC users, as it continues to dominate like no other XBLA title has, including the Trials Evolution juggernaut.

Minecraft XBLA Skin Pack 2 now available

A new Skin Pack is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade version of Minecraft, which will add a whopping 45 new skins for the main character. The DLC will cost a mere 160 Microsoft Points.
