Minecraft documentary airing on Xbox Live Marketplace on 22nd December
Major Nelson has announced that the Minecraft documentary, titled Minecraft: The Story of Mojang, will exclusively premiere on Xbox Live Marketplace for Gold subscribers in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, Austria, France, Finland and Sweden.

Mojang has announced that with the 5M unit sales of Minecraft - The Pocket Edition for iOS devices, the franchise has achieved over 17.5M unit sales. This includes the original Minecraft on PC and the Xbox Live Arcade release of the game.

Mojang has announced that Minecraft for PC has now sold more than 8 million copies, with Jens Bergensten admitting he can't "think of anything clever to say." Notch however has a string for us.

Major Nelson revealed in his blog that for the first time in Xbox Live's history, the most played Xbox Live game is not a shooter, but a strange strategy/simulation MMO played with LEGO-style blocks. In a case of the little indie game that could, Xbox Live Arcade title Minecraft surpassed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the top spot.
