Microsoft announces 'Area One Tour', Xbox One hands-on across 75 cities

Beginning October, Microsoft is taking the Xbox One on a whirlwind tour across 75 major cities in North America and Europe. Attendees will have the chance to try out Xbox One and its handful of launch titles.

Among the locations is London, Paris, Berlin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto. The launch titles offered include Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3.

Forget Grand Theft Auto V - Minecraft is fermenting violent acts in children, claims a father whose son brought "an unloaded handgun, a magazine with six bullets inside, a steak knife and a small-handled sledge hammer" to school.

FIFA 14 takes UK chart top from Grand Theft Auto V

Drama! EA Sports has swanned in with FIFA 14 and grand theft charted the top spot from Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V in the UK all format chart. The crime spree sandbox has to make do with 2nd place.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition was 3rd, followed by PES 2014 now 4th. Splinter Cell: Blacklist slinkies down 7th, along with Saints Row IV and Diablo III 8th and 9th. Rayman Legends climbs 10th.

Over 22 billion cubes reproduce Great Britain in Minecraft

The Ordinance Survey believe they may have created the largest Minecraft map "ever built based on real-world data," as they unveil their cubed rendition of Great Britain. Joseph Braybrook led the project.

Each block represents "50 square metres." They explain their choices in heights for the map as to 'preserve' low-lying coastal areas without things getting too out of scale.

UK chart still led by Saints Row IV, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix debuts 2nd

Volition's probing Saints Row IV keeps its crazy cool atop the UK chart for another week, while Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix enters the running 2nd. Diablo III stays 3rd for consoles.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Disney Infinity, Minecraft for Xbox 360 and Payday 2 all keep steady from 4th to 7th respectively. EA Sports' NHL 14 slips on the rink 11th.
