Minecraft surpasses 9.2 million sales, PC alone at 6 million Poll

The Mojang mineable block empire that is Minecraft just keeps on selling and it's now reached the 9 million milestone across all platforms; PC, Android, iOS and Xbox Live Arcade.

Actually sales are already past 9.2 million with PC hording over 6 million of that. Last November PC sales sat around 4 million. XBLA's Minecraft moved 1 million its launch week.

Microsoft is offering refunds for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft for users who purchased the game expecting to be able to play split screen multiplayer on their standard definition television sets. Unfortunately, they found out that the game won't permit them to play in that mode without HDTV.

Fez developer miffed Minecraft getting "preferential" treatment

Fez developer Polytron feels that Mojang is getting "preferential" treatment from Microsoft, pointing out the immediate announcement of Minecraft's sales figures and being granted free updates.

When Markus "Notch" Persson tweeted that Minecraft 360 turned a profit in just an hour, Polytron, headed by Phil Fish, replied in consternation, "How did you get those stats from MS? We still don't know exactly how much Fez sold almost a month later. You get stats in 24 hours?
