May 2012 US sales down 28% over last year despite Diablo III

Diablo III became the first PC game to lead US videogame sales since Starcraft II two years ago, but it wasn't enough to prevent sales from suffering a 28% drop from May 2011 to May 2012, according to the NPD Group. This has been a trend in dipping sales for the past few months, starting with February 2012's 20% drop from February 2011.

It seems the UK videogame market is not the only one experiences a depression in sales, as the NPD has announced that videogame sales in the US in February 2012, amounting to $1.06B, is down 20% in a year-to-year comparison with February 2011. Console sales are down 18% in year-to-year, while console game sales are down 23%. Videogame accessories are down 16%.

NBA 2K12 Game of the Year Edition hitting 11th March

The Game of the Year Edition of NBA 2K12 will be arriving exclusively at Best Buy in North America on the 11th March. The GOTY version will include the Legends Showcase DLC, and cost $49.99 USD.

2K Sports has announced a new sports combo pack exclusively for the Xbox 360, bundling last year's hit basketball game NBA 2K12 with the upcoming baseball sim MLB 2K12. The bundle will be released on the 6th March and cost $69.99 USD.

Major Nelson has announced the release dates of several games and add-ons for content coming to Xbox Live Marketplace.
