Major Nelson has announced the upcoming Xbox Live Marketplace content coming to the service in the next two weeks. The content is highlighted by the Minecraft-like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim expansion Hearthfire today, while Armored Kill is coming to Battlefield Premium members next week, while the 4th Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC pack, Final Assault, arrives this week.

A new rumor has strung that Popcap's mysterious new game will be a Plants vs. Zombies themed game. The more shocking part of the rumor: it will be an online first person shooter much like Team Fortress 2.

Publisher EA is said to be in the late stages of acquisition talks with casual game royalty, PopCap Games. The purchase is notably worth over $1 billion.
If true then that's about 13 percent of EA's market cap and yet another step in securing the casual and social game arena, especially for mobile platforms.
