The finger of blame is pointed squarely at the impending arrival of Xbox One and PS4, which has eroded enthusiasm in new titles in the run up to the next-gen machines.

|Ubisoft Montpellier, developer behind Rayman Legends, has revealed their next project to be the "touching yet comical adventure" Valiant Hearts: The Great War, inspired by first World War stories.
We follow five people and a dog through battles on the Western Front. It's powered by the UbiArt Framework engine, and so uses a comic-book 2D style. Platforms yet to be determined.

|Volition's Saints Row IV is once again number one in the UK all format chart, followed by Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: Blacklist coming in second. Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn debuted 3rd.
Rayman Legends entered 6th, followed by EA Sports' Madden NFL 25 7th. Payday 2 has risen 9th from 18th. The Last of Us came 13th, and Tomb Raider 16th.
