In Risen 2: Dark Waters, the Inquisition dispatches the hero to seek a remedy against the monstrous sea creatures that are interfering with the shipping lines, thus cutting off the islands' supplies. The pirates seem to know how to deal with these critters ... but they are hardly cooperative.

| Deep Silver has announced that Piranha Bytes' open world roleplaying game, Risen 2: Dark Waters, has been delayed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will now be released on consoles on the 31st July. However, the delay will allow the game to include an extra episode called "The Air Temple", which will reportedly add several additional hours of gameplay. |

| Deep Silver has been forced to change the cover for Risen 2: Dark Waters in North America after The Entertainment Software Ratings Board deemed it too graphic. As you can see in the image below, the original packshot contained red paint that could be seen as excessive blood, which goes against the rating boards marketing guidelines. The publisher has changed the red paint to a light blue to solve this problem. |

| Risen 2: Dark Waters, which can be best described as "The Elder Scrolls with Pirates", will be delayed until May. The release date has been changed from the 27th April worldwide to the 22nd May in North America and 25th May in Europe. |
