Harmonix has announced that after 275 consecutive weeks of releasing song downloadable content for Rock Band and its sequels, it'll finally be ending on the 2nd April.

Harmonix has announced that the instrument-less version of their popular music game, Rock Band Blitz, will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade on the 29th August, and PlayStation Network on the 28th. The game will cost a mere 1200 Microsoft Points / $14.99 USD.

Rock Band Blitz is Harmonix's latest music game, which is basically the core Rock Band experience but ditches the plastic instruments. Part of the appeal of Blitz is that all of the downloadable content purchased for previous Rock Band titles can be played on the new game.

However, Harmonix plans to release 25 core songs that will come with the game, and 15 of them have been revealed.

It seems that Harmonix is working on yet another project, and this time it seems to be a new Kinect game. The developer has posted several job listings, and each one is looking for personnel to work on "a unique motion-gaming IP."

Developer Harmonix has unveiled their digital title Rock Band Blitz which heads for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. No guitar peripheral is necessary - just a pad.

It's more arcade than simulation and it ships with 25 songs, but it can also use any track your DLC'ed for the Rock Band series. Future songs bought will also work with Rock Band 3.
