Crytek "on track" with Ryse, "shaping up well"

Xbox 360 exclusive Ryse from Crytek is still chugging along in the pipeline, confirms Crytek boss Cevat Yerli. For those who've forgot, Ryse is a Kinect title where you fight Romans in melee combat.

The studio isn't revealing anything much about Ryse, and weren't being drawn on a time frame for release either. Rumour has it Crackdown 2's Ruffian is in involved in a multiplayer mode.

At GamesCom 2012, Crytek exec Cevat Yerli stated that development of the studios ambitious Roman-themed Kinect first person brawler Ryse is "moving forward really well."

Cevat Yerli, Crytek CEO, has affirmed that Ryse is still beating strong in the depths of the developer despite missing out on E3 this year. It's an action title set in Rome powered by Kinect.

It'll be "rock-solid and strong" by the time it reaches fans, pledges Yerli because it's one of his "personal darlings" at the studio. The reason for a no show was it wasn't ready.

Last year at E3 2011, Crytek showed off their Kinect title, a first person, bloody beat'em up set in ancient Rome called Ryse, in which players fought off enemies using motion control. Since the trailer, nothing has been seen of the game, including an E3 2012 no-show.

Crysis creators Crytek have a "spectacular" project they're working on alongside THQ's Homefront and Ryse. They can't spill on it yet but April will host its debut to the public.

Nick Button-Brown of the studio boasts it's "genuinely the best of that kind of project" they've ever done. The team onboard are "really enthusiastic" and "really happy" with it.
