SEGA trademark 'Sonic Lost World' in Europe

Sonic the Hedgehog is gearing up for a new adventure it seems as SEGA just yesterday has filed for the trademark of 'Sonic Lost World' in Europe. Details are non-existent for the game but we know its name at least.

Now let the speculation run wild. So 'Lost World' sounds dinosaury, right? Okay then Sonic gets 'lost' in a 'world' full of dinosaurs. Mystery solved. Next trademark please SEGA - that one was too easy.

The upcoming Marketplace content for the next two weeks includes major titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Saints Row: The Third available from Games on Demand, while Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 makes its debut tomorrow. The major Collector 2 downloadable content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will also be launched, which includes the hyped Face Off duels.

Sega's Mike Kebby detailed on the PlayStation Blog some of the new combo moves that gamers playing Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 will be implemented. Of course, one player takes control of Sonic, and the other his two-tailed sidekick Tails.

Sega has announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 will be landing on PlayStation Network on the 15th May and on Xbox Live Arcade on the 16. The PC version will be released in May, but Sega has not given an exact date as of yet.

Team Sonic after "something completely new" with 3D 'forward view' next-gen

The currently releasing Sonic 4 returns to those 2D view platform roots for the blue hedgehog, but Team Sonic boss Takashi Iizuka wants to go back to the "forward view 3D action".

He wants more Sonic Adventure type fun, but exploring "something completely new" in the 3D space. Next-gen Sonic will "always remain stylised" and not adopt realism - phew!
