With THQ's current financial situation in a shambles, it's a bad sign that the publisher announced in its investor report that their major Obsidian-developed game, South Park: The Stick of Truth, will be delayed into 2013.

The game is still listed as its original title, South Park: The Game, and carries with it a new "Q4 FY13" launch, which is a January-March 2013 window.

Xbox Live Marketplace has prematurely revealed the official title of the upcoming South Park roleplaying game developed by Obsidian: South Park: The Stick of Truth.

THQ rallying to avoid NASDAQ delisting

THQ has begun to rally to increase its stock value to prevent its delisting from NASDAQ. The publisher must trade above $0.99/share for ten consecutive days before the 23rd July.

The company's stocks have been surging, reaching $0.67 thanks in no small part to Saints Row: The Third and its downloadable content sales. According to THQ, the game sold 4M copies, surpassing the company's expectations. The stock had hit a lot of $0.45 last 17th April.

South Park creators personally picked Obsidian to develop South Park RPG

THQ boss Danny Bilson has revealed that South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone personally chose Obsidian to develop the South Park RPG before THQ was even brought in to publish the game.

"This game came to us. Matt and Trey wanted to do a great game," said Bilson in an interview with Ripten. "They had even contracted Obsidian themselves before we came in and, I believe, there was work going on for about a year."
