Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics is teasing that the company is working on a new IP, alongside its reboot of the iconic third person action-adventure series. However, the developer refuses to reveal any details about the new game.

A reboot of Tomb Raider will be hitting sometime next year that will tell the origins of the iconic Lara Croft, portrayed as a 21 year old shipwreck survivor who becomes embroiled in what seems to be an occult plot.

There is also a live action film set for 2013, written by Iron Man writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and produced by Graham King, who recently teamed with Martin Scorsese on Hugo.

Crystal Dynamics has addressed fan concerns that they'll feature a heavy load of quick-time events in the Tomb Raider reboot. They "will leverage" them.

However they're only at "very specific times" when the team feels a QTE can best deliver an "intense and cinematic experience." QTE 'bit heavy' in E3 demo.

Crystal Dynamic rebooted the Tomb Raider franchise as Lady Croft was "losing some relevance" to the world, and they wanted her "more approachable".

Lara "became an icon" of sorts and lost her "relatability." They remade her so she "wasn't perfect" as gamers want "a complex hero." Ground is 'fertile' again.
