Square Enix re-release original Tomb Raider games through Steam
In the run up to 2013's Tomb Raider from Crystal Dynamics, publisher Square Enix has decided to overload our senses with six doses of Lara Croft nostalgia. Available at $9.99 / €9.99 / £6.99 each.
That means you don't need to try and hunt down that 1996 disc of the original MS-DOS running Tomb Raider. We can take on dinosaurs, mansion training courses and the end of world digitally.

The upcoming content for Xbox Live Marketplace is light, but what it lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. Aside from the two Summer of Arcade titles coming in the next two weeks, Wreckateer and Deadlight, there are half-off savings on Lara Croft: Guardian of Light and Tomb Raider Underworld downloadable content.

Square Enix's house of all things Lara Croft - Crystal Dynamics - has been joined by God of War director Cory Barlog. He'll be involved in a new Tomb Raider project in San Francisco.
There's also a "yet to be announced new title." Barlog was writer/director for God of War 2 and creative director for Chains of Olympus, and steered Ghost of Sparta's narrative.

Crystal Dynamic rebooted the Tomb Raider franchise as Lady Croft was "losing some relevance" to the world, and they wanted her "more approachable".
Lara "became an icon" of sorts and lost her "relatability." They remade her so she "wasn't perfect" as gamers want "a complex hero." Ground is 'fertile' again.
