| The free-to-play antics of shooter Tribes: Ascend won't be hitting Xbox 360 or PS3 because when they looked into it there wasn't a way to pull it off "early on." This led to a sole PC focus. They backed the strengths of desktop gaming, "specifically" keyboard and mouse control. They're "interested in free-to-play on consoles," but there are no plans in motion. |

| Tribes Ascend developer Hi-Rez has stated that free-to-play gaming is "inevitable" on the Xbox 360, and that their shooter Tribes Ascend will hit the 360 when Microsoft allows it. Tribes Ascend has been in development for the 360, but when it went free-to-play, its release for the 360 became delayed indefinitely. Tribes Ascend will be released for PC this year. |
