Xbox Live Marketplace content for next two weeks revealed

Major Nelson has revealed the next two week's Xbox Live Marketplace content. As one might expect, digital content is light as retail releases dominate the Xbox 360 landscape. Some notable DLC includes the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Season Pass as well as content for Kinect titles Wreckateer and Fruit Ninja Kinect.

Tomorrow for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC there will be new DLC for United Front's Sleeping Dogs in the form of the Square Enix Character Pack. This dresses up Wei Shen in three distinctive ways.

The Hitman outfit features a bald, red-tie suited Shen. Deus Ex lets him keep his hair and adds those cool Jensen specs, and augmented tactical suit. Finally there's Rico's island regime changing garb.

Former Square boss calls merger "a complete failure" between Square and Enix

Hisashi Suzuki, former president of Square, is less than impressed by the result of 2003's merger between Square and Enix. He grimly remarks the company has "no vision for the future."

This comes after losses of nearly ¥5.5 billion are posted, seeing the Square Enix stock price plunge with a market cap of ¥124 billion. Suzuki-san points to Square's 2003 cap of ¥150 billion.

The upcoming Xbox Live Marketplace is a bit light, as the biggest upcoming content will be the Season Passes for upcoming Assassin's Creed 3 and Halo 4 downloadable content. The Nightmare on North Point DLC arrives for Sleeping Dogs in time for Halloween.

Square "believed" in Sleeping Dogs from the start, 6 months of DLC in works

Producer Dan Sochan of United Front's Sleeping Dogs reveals that Square Enix immediately saw the action sandbox in Hong Kong as a "potential franchise from the very beginning", snapping it up.

He reveals Square "wanted to do DLC" months before release, but the team "spent every waking hour" polishing the core game. New content began only when Sleeping Dogs launched.
