Earth multiplayer Mass Effect 3 DLC highlights upcoming Marketplace content

The upcoming free Earth multiplayer downloadable content for Mass Effect 3 highlights the upcoming Xbox Live Marketplace content revealed by Major Nelson's blog.

Other notable offerings includes a Bethesda DLC sale with content for Oblivion and Fallout 3 at 50% off, followed by a half-off sale for Ubisoft games. The Summer of Arcade proceedings start with the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD on the 18th July as well.

THQ had fourth UFC Undisputed title in development, $1.1m in severance Poll

With the sale of the UFC license to EA, THQ had to pull the plug on development of a fourth UFC Undisputed game and close down THQ San Diego. $1.1m will be paid in severance.

A further $1.3 million will be for charges associated with facilities and $0.5 million "related to long-lived assets." THQ revealed that UFC Undisputed 3 sold 1.4 million copies.

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter is reporting that THQ management told him that the reason the publisher sold the license to Electronic Arts is that the latest title, UFC Undisputed 3, failed to break even, despite selling 2M units worldwide.

THQ owned the videogame rights to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) license, publishing the UFC Undisputed Games. Today, Electronic Arts announced during its E3 press conference that it has signed an agreement with Zuffa, LLC, to publish UFC games exclusively under the EA Sports label.

US videogame retail sales down 20% in February 2012

It seems the UK videogame market is not the only one experiences a depression in sales, as the NPD has announced that videogame sales in the US in February 2012, amounting to $1.06B, is down 20% in a year-to-year comparison with February 2011. Console sales are down 18% in year-to-year, while console game sales are down 23%. Videogame accessories are down 16%.
